Salon

One wine, one grape, one village, one vintage at a time: Salon Le Mesnil is released only in years the house declares — about 40 vintages since 1905 — in roughly 60,000 bottles.

Champagne Salon (Laurent-Perrier group) makes a single blanc de blancs from Chardonnay grown in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and only in declared vintages, of which there have been around forty since 1905. Production in a declared year is reported at about 60,000 bottles; undeclared years' fruit goes to sister house Delamotte.

Economic profile

Salon is the scarcity model applied to Champagne: no non-vintage, no rosé, no second label, and a decade of aging before release. Its 2008 was released in 2020 only in magnum, in about 8,000 bottles, and became one of the most expensive current-release Champagnes.
