Bordeaux opening prices: the 2025 vintage

Top Bordeaux is first sold while it is still in the barrel, a system called en primeur. These are the opening prices each château asked, as reported by the wine press.

En primeur campaigns: the 2025 vintage

Each spring the Bordeaux châteaux offer the previous year’s wine to the trade while it is still in barrel. This page records the price each asked per bottle, campaign by campaign, exactly as a named publication reported it, beside the first price American shops offered the same wine at where Wine Spectator tabulated one.

How it works

Each spring, the top Bordeaux estates offer last year’s wine for sale while it is still in the barrel. Buyers pay now and wait about two years for the bottles.

The opening price sets the tone for everything that follows, which is why the trade watches it so closely. The bars below show what each estate asked.
