Dom Pérignon

Moët & Chandon's prestige cuvée, vintage-only, released after at least seven or eight years and again as 'Plénitude 2' after fifteen — the largest-volume collectible Champagne.

Dom Pérignon is the prestige cuvée of Moët & Chandon (LVMH), made only in declared vintages from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir across Champagne's grands crus and released after a minimum of about eight years. Production is undisclosed but is by common trade estimate in the millions of bottles per vintage — far larger than any other collectible Champagne.

Economic profile

Dom Pérignon is the liquidity case among prestige Champagnes: volume large enough that every declared vintage trades continuously, prices steadier than Burgundy's, and a second release (P2) that re-prices older stock the house has held. LVMH's Champagne holdings — Moët's roughly 1,200 hectares plus grower contracts — make it the only house on this site whose scale approaches a large Bordeaux estate's.
