Château Haut-Brion's grand vin blends roughly equal Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from about 48 hectares in Pessac-Léognan, aged in new oak for about 18 months. Production is reported by the trade at around 8,000–10,000 cases, among the lowest of the first growths, which shows in a somewhat thinner secondary market than Lafite's or Mouton's.
