Ornellaia reports about 115 hectares of vines in Bolgheri. The flagship Ornellaia (a Bordeaux blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) is made in roughly 150,000 bottles; Le Serre Nuove is the second wine. The estate is owned by Marchesi Frescobaldi, which also owns Masseto as a separate estate since 2018.

Economic profile

Ornellaia's economics mirror Sassicaia's — Bordeaux-scale volume, Place de Bordeaux distribution — with a higher share of Merlot and a Vendemmia d'Artista programme (artist labels on large formats sold for charity) that adds a collectible layer.
