Château de Beaucastel reports about 130 hectares, organic since 1962 and biodynamic since 1974, using all 13 permitted varieties. Hommage à Jacques Perrin, made in selected vintages from old Mourvèdre, is the collectible; the estate wine is produced in Bordeaux-like quantities.

Economic profile

Beaucastel is the southern Rhône's volume-plus-scarcity model: a large estate wine with wide distribution and a tiny top cuvée made only in declared years.
